How to find us

Most people visiting Strensall from elsewhere will be arriving from York (via Huntington) or from the northern ring road [A1237] from which Strensall is signposted from its most northerly roundabout.

Map for finding St Mary's, Strensall by road

The road from the ring road takes you through Earswick (not New Earswick), with its two mini roundabouts. Carry straight on until you have passed the barracks on the right and the service station on the left.

Turn left at the mini roundabout into York Road. Stay on this road over the level crossing and stay with it as it bends to the right and then to the left but not the third bend to the right (at the phone box) where, instead, you should turn left into Church Lane where, not surprisingly, the church is situated.

You can access a map which you can zoom in and out of at Multimap.

Public Transport

Strensall has a good bus service, Orange Line (number 5) – ask the driver for Strensall library.  The service runs half-hourly from the York on a Sunday, more frequently during the week. For full details of services, see the First York website.

Parking

Unfortunately the City Council have just sold the ‘Old School car park’ so it is necessary to park in the road.  However, Church Lane is very narrow - please ensure that our neighbours are not inconvenienced.  We hope to build our own car park as part of the Spearehead Project.
